Volume, length, definition, colour pay-off, buildability, being able to hold a curl, no-flaking: these are some of the features women expect from their mascara, sometimes all in one! Whether you’re looking for a false-lash flutter or you’re going for something that will enhance your natural beauty, finding the perfect mascara is always quite a hustle.
In my quest to find the miracle maker and after spending tons of money on both drugstore and high-end mascaras, I finally found what has become my all time staple: Lancôme’s Hypnôse Drama. I have been using this mascara for about 4 years and although, I still go astray from time to time to try some new releases, no other mascara has come close to this one yet. I’ll even make this statement: it is, hands down, the best mascara I have ever used!
The formula & Packaging
With its creamy, glossy and slightly wet formula, Hypnôse Drama mascara applies and builds up effortlessly without clumping or flaking. The formula glides onto the lashes creating full-body, high-volume lashes in a single stroke. The brush of the mascara, which features an S-shaped curve and natural hair bristles, can grasp even the tiniest lashes, evenly coating them from root to tip. The deep, intense black colour and bold buildable volume created by Lancôme’s Hypnôse Drama mascara gives the lashes a dramatic false-lash effect that lasts all day without smudging. Plus, because of its wet formula, the mascara doesn’t dry out too fast.
Tips for a perfect application
If needed, start by curling your lashes. When applying your mascara, don’t take the brush straight out of the tube and onto the lashes. What this does is distribute way too much product, making the lashes clump together and weigh them down. Plus, too much product on the lashes also means that it will start to crumble and flake once it dries. What you want to do first is wipe out the excess product off the brush onto the sides of the tube. That way you’re not waisting any product. Then, using the concave side of the brush, gently coat your lashes with a thin layer of product, wiggling the wand from root to tip. Wait for the first coat to dry before applying a second one. This will prevent your lashes from clumping together and will structure your look by adding definition. Use the tip of the brush to reach for the tiny lashes in the inner corners and to add mascara to your bottom lashes.
And you, what do you expect from your mascara? Which one is your favourite?
