When ads make you feel dumb

Apparently, making ads in Denmark is way more intellectual than in our countries. Well, maybe not for every Danish companies but if we have a look at Bang & Olufsen campaign, we can’t help feeling a bit… impressed.

Visit us and have a look at our products.

First of all, it doesn’t even look like an ad. No talking animals, no bad actors, no lovely voices singing advertising slogans… Not even a standard family watching TV in their living room, enjoying the sound ! How can that be?

We are here to help you.

Secondly, they all look so professional and concerned by our hearing comfort. They obviously seem to know what they are talking about ! Even if you don’t understand a word of what they say, you can feel it: it’s a tough job but they take it seriously!

It’s more than money, it’s Science.

Thirdly, they don’t try to convince us. In fact, they don’t need to with their “these are facts, simply facts” policy. And you actually believe them.

Listen to your brain.

In the end, watching these videos is more like watching a report than an ad. The point is not to make you feel like you certainly need their products but to show it would be such a good investment to buy one of them – which is obviously a clever way to advertise nowadays…

If their ads don’t work, well… At least, they didn’t make a fool of themselves like most of the current companies that, trying to be inventive, come out with the silliest ads ever…

And that’s such a relief!
